When you upgrade a Blocksy Pro plan, the amount you have already paid is taken into account. Instead of charging the full price again, the unused value of your current plan is applied towards the new one whenever proration is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proration simply means adjusting a charge according to the portion of a billing period that has already been used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Blocksy Pro annual subscriptions, changing your plan starts a new billing cycle. The unused value of your existing subscription is calculated and applied as credit towards the new plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The examples below use the standard prices listed on our Blocksy Pro pricing page<\/a>. Promotional discounts, coupons or applicable taxes may affect the final amount shown at checkout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proration for Annual Subscriptions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When changing an annual Blocksy Pro subscription, the unused portion of your current plan is credited towards the full price of the new plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upgrade Example<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Suppose you purchase a Personal<\/strong> licence for $69\/year<\/strong> and upgrade to Agency<\/strong>, priced at $149\/year<\/strong>, after three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Three months represent 25% of the annual billing period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • You have used $17.25<\/strong> of the original $69 subscription.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The remaining $51.75<\/strong> is applied as credit towards the Agency plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The amount due for the upgrade is therefore $149 – $51.75 = $97.25<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The upgrade date becomes the beginning of the new annual billing period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Downgrade Example<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Suppose you purchase a Business<\/strong> licence for $99\/year<\/strong> on January 15 and change to the Personal<\/strong> plan, priced at $69\/year<\/strong>, on July 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Six months of the original subscription have been used, leaving 50% of its value unused.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The remaining value of the Business subscription is $49.50<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • This amount is credited towards the $69 Personal plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The amount due for the new subscription is therefore $69 – $49.50 = $19.50<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      The new Personal subscription begins on July 15, with the next annual renewal taking place on July 15 of the following year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Proration for Lifetime Plans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Lifetime Blocksy Pro licences use a different upgrade policy. A proration credit is available only when the lifetime plan is upgraded within 30 days of the original purchase<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The credit is calculated using the lower value between the previous lifetime licence price and the new lifetime licence price. For a standard upgrade to a higher plan, this means that the amount already paid for the original licence is credited towards the new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Lifetime Upgrade Examples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • If you purchase a lifetime Personal<\/strong> licence for $199<\/strong> and upgrade to the Business<\/strong> lifetime licence for $299<\/strong> three days later, you will pay the $100 difference<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • If you purchase a lifetime Business<\/strong> licence for $299<\/strong> and upgrade to the Agency<\/strong> lifetime licence for $499<\/strong> within two weeks, you will pay the $200 difference<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • If you purchase a lifetime Personal<\/strong> licence for $199<\/strong> on August 10 and request an upgrade to the Agency<\/strong> lifetime licence on November 24, the 30-day proration period has already expired. The new Agency licence will therefore be charged at its full $499<\/strong> price.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        The 30-day limitation prevents lifetime licences from effectively being used for extended periods before receiving their entire original purchase price as credit towards a higher plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        For example, without this limitation, someone could use a $199 Personal lifetime licence for several years and later upgrade to the $299 Business licence by paying only the $100 difference. This would give them years of licence use, updates and support while ultimately paying the same amount as someone purchasing the Business licence directly much later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Proration with Coupons<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        If you apply a percentage-based coupon while changing your plan, the proration credit is calculated first. The coupon discount is then applied to the remaining amount after proration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Updating Your Plan at Checkout<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        When changing your Blocksy Pro plan from our website, the checkout will provide an option to identify your existing licence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
