Having a back-up ready will give you peace of mind no matter what goes wrong since you know you can restore your website to its former state in just a few clicks.
Creating a back-up is an easy process thanks to the multitude of plugins available on the WordPress repository. For this demonstration we’ll be using WPVivid’s Backup plugin but you can choose whichever’s best for you.
Once installed and activated, this plugin lets you create a snapshot of your website with just one click and restoring it is done in the same easy manner, should things go uneven-Steven.
In this video demonstration, we purposefully break our site and, as expected, the backup is reinstated without a hitch! For larger websites, a little patience goes a long way since the process might take a while.
When backing up & restoring your site is so easy, there’s really no reason not to do it. It’s like having access to your free, specialised time machine 🙂
