Activating the Extension
Activating the Cookies Consent extension is quick and easy. Follow these steps:
- Navigate to your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to Blocksy → Extensions tab.
- Locate the Cookies Consent extension.
- Toggle it on to activate the feature.
Once activated, the cookie notification will immediately appear on the front end, ensuring visitors are informed about your site’s cookie usage.
Granular Controls
Configuring the Cookies Consent extension is straightforward and user-friendly. To access the settings, navigate to Customizer → Cookies Consent.
Within this pane, you can manage the design and messaging of the cookie consent box and customize the behavior of the Accept and Decline buttons. Additionally, privacy policy acceptance checkboxes can be added to various forms throughout your site, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
Design & Content
In this section, you can fine-tune the look and feel of the cookie consent box:
Design Options: Choose between two layouts:
- A boxed view that appears in the lower-left corner of the screen.
- A banner view that spans the bottom of the website for maximum visibility.
Content Customization: Modify the text of the cookie message and personalize the Accept and Decline buttons to match your site’s branding.
Forms Cookie Consent
This section allows you to configure the privacy policy checkbox that appears in forms across your site. Customize the contents of this checkbox to align with your site’s legal requirements, providing a seamless experience for users filling out forms.
Additional Information
The Cookies Consent extension seamlessly integrates with Blocksy’s Visitor Engagement options, allowing for easy integration of Google Analytics into your website. When Google Analytics is configured through Blocksy’s settings, its scripts will only run if the visitor accepts cookies. If cookies are declined, the scripts remain inactive, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
It’s important to note that the Cookies Consent extension is designed as a straightforward tool for notifying visitors about the use of cookies on your website. It does not serve as an all-encompassing solution for managing cookies. Specifically, it cannot control cookies set by third-party tools or features outside of Blocksy.
